Why Kosh exists
Kosh is an iPhone app that keeps one shared money plan for an Indian family, so the due dates, the payments and the limits are in one place for everyone.
Where it started
Kosh started with a two-income family in India. One home loan, a few SIPs, two insurance premiums and a PPF deposit. The plan lived in a spreadsheet, and the updates lived in a chat thread.
Then a premium was missed, because each partner thought the other had paid it. In another month, the SWP money came in after the EMI date. Nothing in the sheet said so in time.
What Kosh does
Each Member signs in on their own iPhone. The Koshadhyaksha, the treasurer of the Household, sets it up and invites the others by email.
- Payments such as EMIs, SIPs, SWPs, premiums, rent and fees, each added once with a schedule
- A notification on the due date for every Member with notifications on
- Family net worth by Member and Category
- Goals with a target by a date and a projection
- Hard rules, such as the ₹1,25,000 LTCG limit, with a warning before a change breaks one
- Runway, What-if and the Protection gap
- CAS statement import from CAMS or KFintech
What Kosh does not do
Kosh tracks, notifies and warns. It never names a fund, policy or product to pick, and it does not tell anyone what to do with their money. The decisions stay with the family.
- It never asks for bank or broker logins.
- It cannot move money.
- It shows no ads and takes no product commissions.
- Your data is not sold.
Built in India
Kosh is built independently in India, for Indian households: rupees and lakhs, EMIs and SIPs, PPF and NPS.
Kosh is in private testing on iPhone and is free during testing. To join, or to ask anything, write to hello@ourkosh.com.
